THERESA GOESSMANN

THERESA GOESSMANN

So fragile
mute
So pale and tired
These colours
Pixelated
Vague
Unwilling to commit
To higher resolutions
And sharp definitions
Flattened
Ephemeral
Yet substantial
And universal
Resilient
Recurring
Returning
Everyday
Like breath

Theresa Goessmann (*1992 in Hamburg, Germany) is a multidisciplinary artist with a background in fashion and textile design. Her work often slips between the gaps of creative disciplines, merging design, art, writing, photography, drawing and video into a shapeshifting practice. By experimenting with aleatoric processes, Goessmann often creates several practically identical works, upon which thoughts that have apparently just been developed are manifested: notes are made and then crossed out again, ‘mistakes’ are repeated. Goessmann has previously collaborated on performance pieces, dance, installation art, set design and held public workshops at Tate Exchange as part of Central Saint Martin’s ‚This Is An Art School’ and 'Studio Complex’ projects. Her work has been featured in shows in the UK, Germany and China. One of her works was selected to be shown at the opening event of the new Tate Modern Building amongst other young creatives.

Make no commitments
Make no promises
Just make
And be made
Remake
Be remade
